Our goal is to make any 3D app available on all browsers without plugins with the highest quality possible and cost-effective broader scalability. Cloud rendering provides stunning availability without plugins for any 3D app, while WebGL being a more cost-effective technology is used to create more interactive 3D environments for supported devices ensuring a higher scalability.
Q2. Cloud rendering is very dependent on the network capabilities : server/bandwith speed. What kind of performances (FPS) can user expect with those different configurations : Connected PC (broadband > 4Mb/sec), Tablet (Wifi > 512kb/sec), Smarphones (3G)?
Cloudmach bandwidth per user is 50Kbps-2Mbps so that it works even on 3G (from 10 FPS). For broadband it is more than 20 FPS and 15-25 FPS for Wifi.
Q4. Would it be possible to play with online games created with Cloudmach : are interactions enough fast?
Yes, interactions are fast enough to play any type of a game powered by Cloudmach. While Cloud rendering suits best for social games and RPG, WebGL provides high performance to action games and simulators.
Q5. What kind of 3D content is it possible to publish with Cloudmach?
Cloudmach supports assets of all the modern editing tools, among them are Maya, 3ds Max, Blender, etc.
Q6. Actually, Cloudmach is a private demo. When will it be available?
The release of Cloudmach platform is planned for the end of this year.
Q7. About WebGL, why do you choose this technology. Microsoft does not seems to support it. According to that, do you think that WebGL is a smart choice for the future of realtime 3D?
Nowadays WebGL is a single client rendering technology making 3D apps available in a browser with no plugins, downloads, or installations.
Even if Microsoft doesn?t support WebGL, WebGL will be working in IE with a plugin. If another technology, for example Molehill, gets broader distribution and deeper marketing penetration, Cloudmach will support it as an alternative rendering.
Additionally, Cloudmach uses Server-side rendering which works on all devices regardless a browser used.
Q8. What are the major advantage of Cloudmach compare to other server base rendering (Reality Server, Nova server, WireFusion 6) ?
Our solution works instantly in a browser with no plugins. Cloudmach supports up to 1,000 concurrently running users on a single commodity server which enables using it even for free to play games and reach a higher scalability.
